Niagara-on-the-Lake

A hidden jewel on the shores of the majestic Niagara River, the village of Niagara-on-the-Lake offers everything you are looking for in quaint, small-town Canadiana. Upper Canada's original capital, Niagara-on-the-Lake holds the secrets of Ontario's past, ranging from the Underground Railroad, whose early activists met at the Old Angel Inn, still in operation today, to heroes and heroines from the War of 1812, including Laura Secord and Sir Isaac Brock.  Strolling through the streets of downtown, you are met at each glance with careful preserved and lovingly cared for historic buildings and monuments, including the Cenotaph Clock Tower, dedicated in 1922.

NOTL boasts a thriving arts scene, and is home to the long running Shaw Festival, first established in 1962.  A theatre scene to rival Stratford and Toronto, the Shaw Festival currently hosts 11 productions and introduced patrons to two-way theatre in 2017. More recently, NOTL has hosted a driven music scene, including concerts for City and Colour, The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo and many more.  The surrounding wineries, in the lush and expansive rural landscape around the village, lay claim to many food, arts and musical festivals, throughout the year

With upscale restaurants and spas, you will have the chance to spoil yourself, however you wish.  With over 20 local, award winning wineries offering tours, you will be able to experience the best of Niagara's vineyards, with the seasonal, traditional and highly sought after ice wines, grown and harvested in your own backyard.  Combined with the heritage fruit orchards, local farm-to-table restaurants and award winning chefs, every meal, every sip is an adventure worth having.

Neighbouring on the natural beauty of the Niagara Gorge, leading to Lake Ontario from the magnificence of Niagara Falls, you have the ability to bike, stroll and hike some of the most amazing trails available in the region. Each season provides new views to explore and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.  From casual, evening strolls, to avid outdoors enthusiasts, there is something for everyone.
