Explore Niagara This Fall
The change in the weather is definitely upon us.  As the weather starts to get a little colder and the leaves start to change colour it is a great opportunity to get outdoors and take advantage of the beauty of the Niagara Region and its surrounding areas.  There will a seemingly endless list of things to do before the snow falls.  Below are some of what we consider the best events to add to your weekend list of outings.
If Halloween gets you excited, Niagara has a number of pumpkin patches that give you the opportunity to go out and pick your own pumpkins, take wagon rides or even a haunted hay ride.  Warner Ranch and Pumpkin Farm, Bry-Anne Farms and Mr. Pumpkin all offer family fun at a reasonable price and have entertainment for all ages.  If you just can’t get enough of Halloween, Niagara is home to numerous ghost walks and ghost tours.  A google search will give you a list of spooky or historical ghost walks or tours.
One of Niagara’s biggest fall events is the Ball’s Falls Thanksgiving Festival.  Starting on Friday at 10:00am at the Ball’s Falls Conservation Area and in the downtown area of Vineland, this craft show offers hundreds of crafts, food, and one of a kind vendors over the long weekend.  If you are looking for a special gift, some unique food offerings or something unique for your home, this might be a great opportunity for you to find what you are looking for.  Visit thanksgivingfestival.ca for all of the details.
Spending a day in the tourist area of Niagara-on-the-Lake is an beautiful way to spend the day outdoors.  The historic town is home to Fort George, fantastic dining, the Shaw Festival and much more.  Spend the day walking around and exploring one of Canada’s oldest cities.
Being outdoors in the fall offers a ton of beauty that can be experienced on numerous paths, conservation areas, or private parks.  This year’s Boo at the Zoo is Thanksgiving weekend and is a great family event at Safari Niagara.  For more details check out https://safariniagara.com/event/boo-at-the-zoo/.   Beamer Falls, Balls Falls, The Friendship Trail, Niagara River Parkway path and many other places offer great opportunities to explore the beauty of fall in Niagara.
